The philosopher Plato said that "…you can learn more about a person in one hour of play than an entire year of converstation”. Plato suggested that the way people play…defines their character; that when you play…that is really who you are. Plato would ask…

Do you follow the rules? Do you think of others? Do you play fair? Do you play nice?

Through stories, humor and student interactions, Stu Cabe’s Key note assembly brings the fundamental ideas of play and social interaction to the ever changing world of Middle school students. Stu asks students to examine the choices they make when it is “their time” and adults are not holding them accountable. He challenges students to understand that how they act when just “hanging out” reflects a deeper, more realistic look into their day to day interactions. Word choice, body language and the difference between fun and funny are core values in Stu’s message. The result is a powerful key note and clearly executed message that helps students understand what playing fair really means.
